The Talent Platform is an end-to-end solution for Talents in Malaysia to assist them to land on the profession based on their interest and competency. Since the Malaysian population fabric contain multiple races with different culture, religion and language ability, capturing the individual’s personal information is key in matching them to the relevant profession, be it internship or their first job. Being a government agency under the Ministry of Human Resource, collecting these data points is critical to forecast talents competency, availability and skill set that can be shared with the industry. This is also crucial in attracting Foreign Direct investment that creates job opportunities.  This will be highly beneficial for industry that is looking for the right criteria based on the skill set and personal background of the talent. For example, a Muslim individual will not be suitable to work in a non-Halal industry while talent in certain race and gender have their own st of restriction in this plural society. In the end, the talent is the main beneficiary of this initiative.

 

Below are the main objectives for this platform:

1. Building a talent database: To build a repository of talents in Malaysia to track and improve graduate employability rate

2. Talent matching: To ensure accurate matching between talents and companies in internship placement, based on location, age, etc.

3. Reporting of information to the Ministry of Finance Malaysia (MoF): As companies are eligible for tax deduction when they hire interns via the National Structured Internship Programme (MySIP) endorsed by the Ministry of Human Resources and the Ministry of Higher Education, hence they require detailed information regarding the Talent to crosscheck their identity and the validity of data provided by the companies.
